Email Aliases
We encourage consultants to share and learn from each other as well as use the resources available. The Consultant Communication Network provides a means of communication among consultants and staff.
Good written and verbal communication is important to Learning Technologies, and one of the most important things you will be evaluated on. Please study this section carefully, as you will be held accountable for its contents.
Email Aliases
The only email alias that we will require you to use is consmgr@ucsc.edu as it is the primary email used by the Student Managers. For most forms of communication with other Student Consultants and the Management Team, Slack is preferred as it is more instant that email. However, there are still instances were emailing consmgr is a good idea, such as administrative issue like late or missing shifts and letting the Management Team know other consultants are missing their shifts.
How to use consmgr@ucsc.edu:
consmgr@ucsc.edu is the only email alias you need to keep track of for communication with Student Managers. ALWAYS be sure to CC (Carbon Copy) consmgr@ucsc.edu and hit “Reply All” when you email any of the Management staff and do NOT email Student Managers individually, this ensures your email will get answered in a timely manner and that Student Managers will all be kept up to date.Â
Student Consultant Support Email Aliases:
Student Consultants will occasionally be asked to give customers an email for them to submit help requests. The only email that Consultants are allowed to give out is help@ucsc.edu. NEVER give out your personal email to a customer. Giving customers this alias will help the Learning Technologies team get the customer the proper support they require, even if it is not a Learning Technologies related issue.
