The Porter Arts lab is located at the Porter Arts building in room D-240. This lab is equipped with Macs and image scanners, as well as a print station. Supplies are in the two cabinets closest to the consultant work station.

Heating:
There are 3 heaters on the outer facing wall. If it is cold in the room, feel free to turn the dial to 3-5 on the leftmost and rightmost heaters. (The middle one doesn’t work…?) If you are the closing consultant, please turn off the heaters before leaving.

Birds:
Sometimes birds will fly at the outer facing wall… I don’t think they understand what a wall is 😭

The windows: The Porter Arts lab has windows that may be difficult to reach and open, so there is a window opener behind the consultant station. If you open any windows, please make sure that they are closed by the closing shift.

[TBA – Software may not be installed yet] The lab will have specialized software packages such as video, sound and graphics editing programs. Porter Arts is also the only lab where rendering is allowed (see section on Rendering and Overnight Processing for further information).
