Throughout the year various unions and groups will organize pickets and strikes for one reason or another. While Learning Technologies respects the various beliefs and convictions of our Consultants, we generally do not allow a shift to go unstaffed because of strikes and picketing since student fees are paying for lab services. Consultants are welcome to sub shifts using the normal procedures, but if a substitute consultant cannot be found Consultants are still responsible for all assigned shifts.

It’s most important to periodically check the #announcements channel on Slack for accurate course of action for shift releases. Slack is where the most up to date information regarding strikes will be found. In general, do NOT call out for shifts affected by strikes until we have stated you may do so.
