Suggestions
We always welcome your suggestions on how we can improve the labs and libraries. There have been numerous instances where things have changed for the better because of consultant suggestions. For example, we’ve rearranged the entire layout of computers in a lab due to consultant suggestions. At Learning Technologies, we have an open door policy for suggestions/feedback. The Lab Operations Manager is available for drop-in meetings anytime (office hours are Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm).
Please don’t assume that things need to be the way they are just because that’s how they have been. Don’t assume we’ve thought of everything. Don’t assume we know of a problem in a particular lab either. There have been cases where all the consultants knew of a problem and assumed the tech staff had been told, but never actually were. As a rule, it is better to get repeat reports than get no reports at all. Your feedback is essential to the operation and improvement of the labs and libraries. No suggestion is too small or too big. Also, if you hear students or instructors complaining/praising something, let us know! All too often people don’t take the extra step to email their complaints to help@ucsc.edu. We need you to tell us what our customers are thinking in these cases.
We have set-up a Consultant “Suggestion Box” on LTweb for you and your fellow Consultants to suggest changes to the Labs. Any complaints should also be submitted to the suggestion box.
