Consultant Evaluation and Pay Raises

Consultants will be continually evaluated on their job performance and on all aspects of the job as described in the handbook. Evaluations will also consider qualities that may not be explicitly stated, but implied in the job description (for example: courtesy towards customers as well as between Learning Technologies team members). Consultant evaluations not only give Learning Technologies information about how well individuals are working, but also about what level of service we are providing as an organization.

Communication is one of the most important things you will be evaluated on. Good communication is extremely important to Learning Technologies. Please be familiar with Learning Technologies communication policies. If you ever have any questions or concerns about how our communication system works, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Job performance determines many things such as pay raises, priority in scheduling, etc. If a consultant has poor performance issues (such as multiple late timesheets, late to shift, not performing chores, etc.), these can result in consequences such as: an extended probationary period, shifts taken away, or dismissal.

Probationary Training Completion

Consultants must finish a probationary training period (a duration of 1 quarter) in good standing in order to increase their pay rate from $16/hr to $16.33/hr.

At the end of the quarter, the managers will consider your overall performance to determine if you passed the probationary period.

Yearly Pay Raises

Student Consultants will get pay raises yearly*. The amount you get paid will depend on how long you have been working with us and your level of performance during that time. Each year consultants who are doing a good job in the labs and libraries will get a basic pay raise. Consultants who are doing an excellent job will get a higher pay raise. These yearly pay raises are in addition to the pay raise you will receive after you pass your probationary period.

*Note that a consultant who has performed poorly and has been put on a warning status may also forfeit his/her yearly pay raise.
