About Learning Technologies

Our primary mission is to support learning and instruction at UCSC through technology. We have numerous services to support instruction. We have twelve ITS Learning Technologies labs on campus, which are available to students for drop-in use and to faculty to teach courses in. We also run the public computing environment at the McHenry and Science and Engineering libraries. Our mission in both the lab and libraries is to provide excellent service to our customers. As a Learning Technologies Consultant, you are the primary resource providing this service to the campus community. While you are working with Learning Technologies we expect excellent performance and attendance. You will be given the support and resources needed to succeed.

Communication is a vital tool in our mission to provide superior service. You are the eyes and ears of the Learning Technologies team; if there are problems in the labs or libraries or there are things we could do better for our customers, please tell the Management team. If you need help or have a question please feel free to contact the Management team or your fellow consultants through Slack. We also have an open door policy both over email and in person; feel free to drop by our main office in Kerr Hall Room 35 if you have any questions, problems, or just want to chat.

Again, welcome to the team, and we look forward to working with all of you in our continuing efforts to improve the labs and libraries.
